Qinglong Mountain Resort

Residential – Architecture– Interior – Construction

Studio HAVN were appointed as the Interior Designers for a newly constructed five-star hotel in Hangzhou, China, just south of Shanghai. Our scope encompassed the entirety of the project — the hotel itself as well as all seven private villas, including all guest suites and the full complement of public areas such as the entrance lobby, pool, spa, tea house, and meeting rooms.

Set within the rolling hills of Hangzhou’s renowned tea plantations, the design draws directly from its landscape. All materials were chosen for their natural qualities and cultural resonance — timber, stone, bronze, brass, textured plaster, and tracery and complemented by fabrics such as linens and cashmere. This tactile palette was layered with bespoke furniture, lighting, fine art, and sculpture, each element designed to reveal and celebrate the inherent character of the materials.

The Qinglong Mountain Hotel is conceived not merely as a five-star destination, but as a celebration of Hangzhou and of China more broadly. Immersive and deeply connected to its setting, it offers guests an experience that is at once luxurious, authentic, and rooted in the culture and nature of its place.
